Adjustable-power door closers
An adjustable-power closer lets the closing force be set on the unit within the range stated for that model. It is useful when a project has more than one leaf condition, but adjustment does not remove the need to choose a body that can physically fit the door.
What adjustable power changes
It changes the closing force available on that particular unit. It does not change the published maximum leaf width, convert a concealed body into a surface-mounted one, or prove a certification for an opening.
The factory records on the linked models identify adjustable power individually. Models without that record are not added to this page by assumption.
Set it after the closer is fitted
Closing force has to be set against the real door, hinges, latch and local conditions. A force that is too low may fail to latch; one that is too high can make the door difficult to open.
